The area near the port, from which Arbatax takes its name, it is famous for its red rocks, from which a blues music festival that takes place in the town every summer takes its name.
These rocks are made up of reddish porphyry and black diorite and emerge from the sea as if they were a kind of large pharaglons.
It looks like a dolomite scenario that emerged directly from the sea.
